Research Profile

Hi I’m Jaap, a curious scientist with an adventurous mindset and a fascination for natural sciences and artificial intelligence. In June ‘24 I finished my PhD in neurotechnology and I am currently working as a computer vision research engineer at Duck Duck Goose AI. Here, I’m researching and designing computer vision strategies for generalizable deepfake detection.

This website hosts my research profile, focusing on my PhD research on AI-based optimization of neuroprosthetic vision for the blind. You can find more info here. In my free time I still like to engage in neurotech research and other AI projects on a small scale. I’m always open to questions. Don’t hesitate to contact me in case you want to exchange thoughts on interesting research!
